Weight loss of over half a stone, or eight pounds, can be achieved through cutting fruit out of your diet for a week, said an expert.
Pippa Campbell, a nutrition and weight loss coach, has devised a one week diet plan to lose half a stone in a week.
Her seven day weight loss plan, a “more extreme” version of her other diet plans, is designed to kickstart a more long term weight loss plan.
She said the plan would give brilliant results: “Expect weight loss of up to 8 lbs in a week.”
However, this means the diet plan is more restrictive than a longer term plan might be, and cuts out some surprising foods.
“There is no oil and no sugar,” she said, adding that even fruit – usually eaten by dieters because it is healthy and contains vitamins – is banned for the first week.
“There is no fruit on this plan but you can introduce berries after the week,” she explained.
The diet is based around “protein and vegetables”, according to Pippa, and contains “no bread, potatoes, rice or pasta.”
So what is a typical daily meal plan for this Pippa Campbell’s seven day weight loss diet?
The typical plan includes a breakfast of protein powder with water, two tablespoons of chia seeds and nut milk, or one eggs with vegetables, plus two cups of coffee or tea.
For lunch or dinner, there is either a chicken breast, a fish fillet, or a small lean steak with vegetables.
Vegetarians can have two eggs, tofu or lentils with vegetables.
“I encourage clients to fill up with starchy vegetables like parsnips and butternut squash.
“I also encourage them to eat 2 cups of green leafy veg a day,” she said.
