SHEDDING extra kilos is the objective of half of Australian adults.

While a recent study from Sydney University revealed that strength-based exercises significantly lowered the risks of premature deaths, it seems there is still a long way to go before Australians can achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.
A study released in early November by the Heart Foundation and Cancer Council Victoria revealed 43 per cent of Australians adults are trying to lose weight.
Club Aquarius director of fitness John Hollywood said people often gave up physical activity when living a busy lifestyle.
