Weight loss could crucial for some overweight or obese patients. Around 25 per cent of all adults in the UK are obese.
The best way to lose weight is by making changes to your diet or lifestyle routines.
Garcinia cambogia capsules could help patients to shed a few pounds on top of their new diet routine, it’s been claimed.
Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit that’s found in Australia and Polynesia.
It’s active ingredient, hydroxycitric acid, could boost fat burning, while also suppressing appetite, claimed medical website WebMD.
Taking the supplement could help people to lose two pounds, a study revealed. While that may seem insignificant, every little helps at the beginning of a new weight loss diet plan.
“Garcinia cambogia, a tropical fruit also known as the Malabar tamarind, is a popular weight-loss supplement,” said the medical website.
“People say it blocks your body’s ability to make fat and it puts the brakes on your appetite.
“It could help keep blood sugar and cholesterol levels in check, too.
“The active ingredient in the fruit’s rind, hydroxycitric acid, or HCA, has boosted fat-burning and cut back appetite in studies.
“It appears to block an enzyme called citrate lyase, which your body uses to make fat. It also raises levels of the brain chemical serotonin, which may make you feel less hungry.”
Adding garcinia cambogia to your diet could also help to reduce your cholesterol, it said.
It works by replacing some of the ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol in your arteries with ‘good’ HDL cholesterol.
Having high levels of cholesterol in your arteries raises the risk of coronary heart disease.
But always speak to your doctor before taking new supplements.
The best way to lose weight is to making some small diet or lifestyle swaps, said the NHS.
One of the easiest ways to slash the pounds is to eat regular meals – including breakfast, it added.
Drink plenty of water, and be sure to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.
Fibre-rich foods help you to feel fuller for longer, which stops you from overeating.
Exercise is equally as important as a healthy diet. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity every week.
