If you’re like me, you’re looking forward to one of the biggest eating days of the year: Thanksgiving! The Thanksgiving meal is more like a feast of traditional favorite foods that you grew up with in your family. And there’s no denying that it’s also a heavy meal with a lot of calories, but then again…it only happens once a year.
If you are trying to stick to a paleo, keto, or gluten-free diet this holiday, or just want healthier food options to work into your Thanksgiving menu, there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. We could all probably do with a bit more healthy recipes to enjoy, even during the holidays.
I’m not saying get rid of your Thanksgiving favorites—like the stuffing—because there’s no way that’s happening at my house, but maybe consider switching things up a bit. As a courteous hostess, I do try to offer a variety of healthy Thanksgiving sides that will please even the pickiest of eaters.
We’ve all benefited from the countless recipes that have been developed to suit the healthier lifestyle trends we see happening today and I for one, am thankful for that. It makes it so easy to find new recipes to try out in our own kitchens at home, for holidays or everyday life.
